Taste of Greater Gainesville, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, is proud to announce its seventh annual fundraising event on Sunday, June 4, 2017. The Taste of Gainesville team is excited for this year’s turnout and are counting down the days until the event of the Summer. Taste of Gainesville will feature signature dishes from North Central Florida’s best restaurants, while giving back to four Gainesville children's charities: Child Advocacy Center, PACE Center for Girls Alachua, Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida and Tyler's Hope for a Dystonia Cure. Over the first six years, we have been able to donate over $400,000 to local charities.
Meet the Charities
Child Advocacy Center
"A comprehensive, child-friendly facility where professionals from law enforcement, medical, child protection and therapeutic services effectively collaborate to meet the individual needs of child victims and break the cycle of abuse." The Child Advocacy Center in Gainesville provides a child friendly, safe and supportive environment for abused and neglected children. The Center is a place where professionals – social workers, counselors, law enforcement officers, state attorneys, victim advocates, medical professionals and others – work as a team to coordinate investigations and interventions for each child abuse case. This collaboration expedites each child's time in the legal system and ensures that children are not re-victimized by the system and that they and their families are provided the support and services needed.
